Cryptocurrency Prices Today: Top Cryptocurrency Prices Today: Cardano, Dogecoin Rise Up To 13%; Shibu Inu up 5%

New Delhi: Major cryptocurrencies were mostly trading higher in Thursday’s trade, with Cardano and Dogecoin topping the list of gainers over the past 24 hours. Bitcoin, the largest crypto by market value, was trading up 1.57% to $42,940.95. It is up 4.5% over the last seven sessions. Ethereum added 2.05% to $3,032.32. The second-largest cryptocurrency by market value is up 9.5% over the past week.

BNB gained 1.56%, USD Coin edged down 0.03% while XRP added 1.18%. Cardano climbed 13%, taking its seven-day gain to 30%.

Terra rose 2.28% to $95.34. Solana jumped 5% while Polkadot climbed 2.6%. The avalanche increased slightly by 0.5%. Dogecoin jumped 11% and Shibu Inu 5%.

The global cryptocurrency market cap hit $1.95 trillion, up 1.75% in the past 24 hours. Total cryptocurrency trading volume fell 1.95% to $98.24 billion, according to Coinmarketcap.

Meanwhile, major cryptocurrency exchanges in India have collectively decided not to advertise during the Indian Premier League (IPL) this year, three people familiar with the development have said. Last year, CoinDCX, WazirX and CoinSwitch Kuber along with others, collectively spent around Rs 90 crore on TV advertising for the IPL and the T-20 Cricket World Cup.

Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell said new forms of digital currency such as cryptocurrencies and stablecoins pose risks to the US financial system and will require new rules to protect consumers.

Powell, speaking on Wednesday at a panel hosted by the Bank for International Settlements, a global organization of central bankers, also said new technologies are likely to make electronic payments cheaper and faster. But they could also destabilize existing financial institutions, he said.

The Australian and New Zealand banking group said on Thursday it had made a stable payment in Australian dollars, in a landmark transaction to become the first Australian lender to mint a digital asset linked to the country’s currency. A stablecoin is a digital asset designed to hold its value stable against another asset.
