Cryptocurrency price today: The global cryptocurrency market remained stable on Wednesday, May 25, as fear among crypto investors did not subside after several days of choppy trading sessions for a number of reasons. Major crypto coins including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana also didn’t see much growth, but mostly remained green with a few exceptions. The global cryptocurrency market is up 0.83% in the past 24 hours, according to the data, standing at $1.27 trillion at the time of writing.
Bitcoin price today stands at $29,740.10 at the time of writing. This is a slight gain of 1.32% over the past 24 hours, according to data from CoinMarket Cap.
“Bitcoin edged higher last day to gain around 1.6% as buying momentum accelerated. The Cryptocurrency Fear and Greed Index has continued to rise over the past week, Vauld CEO and co-founder Darshan Bathija said on Wednesday. “As BTC traded below the $30,000 level, the Crypto Fear & Greed Index recorded its second-lowest level in index history, over the past week. The bearish sentiment is likely to continue as long as BTC price levels do not register upward trends above key price levels,” Bathija said.
Ether fell below $2,000 during the day, plunging 0.21% in the past 24 hours. The price of ether stood at $1,977.80 today, according to the data.
“Ethereum also made a minor gain of over $2,000 last night. ETH against BTC, however, fell 0.3%, with the Bitcoin Dominance Index maintaining its level above 45%. daily chart for ETH-BTC continues to cross in an ascending channel pattern trading near support levels. Next resistance for ETH-BTC is expected at 0.077 and immediate support is expected at levels of 0.064,” noted the WazirX trade office.
“Over the past few days, altcoins have underperformed BTC, indicating lower levels of risk appetite among traders,” Bathija added on altcoin prices.
